Freeciv.net now supports OpenID for signing in

Freeciv.net now supports OpenID for logging in to games. This means that you can log-in using your username and password from Google, Yahoo, AOL or any other valid OpenID provider. The old method using Facebook Connect is now deprecated. Please let us know what you think about the new log-in method on Freeciv.net!



Internet Explorer 9 will support HTML5 Canvas natively

Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer 9 will fully support the HTML5 canvas element. Therefore, Freeciv.net will also be fully supported in the next version of Interet Explorer. This is truely good news!

Play Freeciv.net on your iPhone
A beta version of Freeciv.net now supports the iPhone. To play Freeciv.net, open http://www.freeciv.net in the Safari web browser on your iPhone. The game works best with iPhone 3GS or newer, with a WLAN Internet connection.

If the feedback is positive, then the iPhone version will be a well maintained version of Freeciv.net. This mobile version can also be used as a basis for other mobile versions of Freeciv.net.
